Where, What, When?

EADIM’s first Certificate in Direct and Interactive Marketing

When it starts?

The course starts with a week in Brussels. There you’ll meet and learn from some of the most experienced D&IM practitioners in the world. Click here to read more about our teachers.

The second phase of the certificate consists of 11 months of distance learning and an exam at the end.

When it ends?

The certificate will finish in October 2010 – having delivered 140 teaching hours and covered all the subjects required in the PEEAC/FEDMA core competencies.

Course Format

We deliver as much training as possible face to face, because the personal element is so vital – in fact all delegates have dinner in small groups with some of the teachers.

But, at the same time, we wish to make it easy for people from different countries to attend, and also for you to learn while you work. The solution that in our view best addresses achieves this is a combination of face-to-face and online teaching as in the following course format.

How does it work?

1 - Face to Face teaching

The course starts with an intensive, one-week, residential seminar in Brussels in October 2009, delivering 48 hours of face-to-face training. Book nowBook now and get €500 off.

On the night before the first training day we have a welcome cocktail reception and on the last day a goodbye lunch – all included in the price paid for the course. During the week, well-known personalities of the International Direct and Interactive Marketing industry – all experienced teachers – will cover the essential topics requested by the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing - FEDMA, just click here to know more about the teachers.

2 - Assignment

At the end of the face-to face phase, you will be given an assignment (project) that will have to be delivered by December 15th. You should spend at least 20 hours on the task.

Each assignment will be individually checked, marked and returned to you by April 2010.

3 – Webinars

The remaining teaching hours will be delivered through live webinars.

What are webinars and how do they work?

Basically a webinar is an on-demand web conference you can join on your computer. It combines the ease of audio conferencing with the interactivity of live video conferencing. You can see and hear the teacher, and ask questions.

You will learn from teachers across the world—as easily as if you were side by side.

You just go to a password protected web address at the scheduled time to listen and communicate live with your tutors and colleagues.

All the webinars will be recorded and saved as video files, complete with the Powerpoint presentation so you can download them and play them back as many times as you wish. So in that respect they are better than a live session, which ends when it ends.

There's no software or hardware to buy. We will send you an invitation with all the details via e-mail and the webinar starts with one click of your mouse. Click here to see a webinar example.

How do we know you’re there?

Together with the invitation you receive the password that allows you to sign in and join the webinars. The moment you sign in we are able to monitor your presence.

In addition, after every webinar you will have to answer questions about the subject discussed. These questions are not marked.

4 – General Assignment Debrief

You will also have the opportunity to learn from everybody’s mistakes during a general assignment debrief session in April 2010.

The most common mistakes found by the tutors on the assignments will be analysed via a special webinar session (but don’t worry, names won’t be mentioned) and the “right answers” will be given.

5 – Questions and Answers Session

Your feedback will be encouraged throughout the course, both through personal email contact with the tutors and through planned Q&A sessions.

Throughout the year 9 webinar sessions of 1.5 hour each will be given by one of the tutors and you will have the opportunity to ask clarifications, explanations – anything you want to know.

A sense of community will also be encouraged through the EADIM’s forum page available for discussion boards on the website. Book now and get €500 off!

6 – Revision

In preparation for the exam you will be given a 20 hour assisted revision through live webinars.

We’ll offer 10 2-hour long webinars right through the month prior to the exam.

7 - Exam

A 6.5 hour exam will take place in October 2010 in Brussels.

The exam will consist of a case study for which you will have to write a marketing plan, including budget and Life Time Value calculation, plus a piece of creative to review, and 8 open questions, one for each of the modules you have attended.

We understand that for some participants it will be difficult to come back to Brussels for the final exam, so we will try to create a controlled environment in their respective country.

To be able to take the exam you must have attended 80% of the course.
